Field Expedient Repair – Or Not…

The FTC says I have to have a disclaimer so you will know if I got any compensation for a post. If someone (corporations are people too, you know) is foolish enough to offer me something on the condition I mention them, I will tag the post compensated_plug.

If, on the other hand, someone offers something I find to be of value, whether it be a discussion forum, mailing list, or a used bilge plug, but does not ask to be mentioned, I may tag that post or link with free_plug, since I was given a free bilge plug the other day.
